Tips, documents, corrections, or general questions — use the right channel and we'll get back to you. Nothing moves without your explicit consent.

Greyson Paynter

Investigative Journalist · Pro Se

Records requests, FOIA appeals, municipal accountability, and editorial decisions. Fighting bad actors through public records — one document at a time.

Debra Paynter

Investigative Journalist · Pro Se

Tenant rights, eviction cases, community sources, and correction requests. Mother and co-investigator — holding the line alongside Greyson.

The Albany Records Project is a mother–son investigative journalism effort. We are pro se and independent — no editorial gatekeepers, no outside funders calling the shots.

Corrections

Spotted an error? We verify against the source record, fix the page, and publish a correction note in place.

Report an eviction

Tenants, neighbors, and advocates can submit eviction activity through our structured intake.

Report an eviction →

Before we publish, we ask:

  1. Has the complaint been filed?
  2. Does the public statement match the filed complaint or a source record?
  3. Does it expose private medical, resident, payment, address, vehicle, family, or nonparty information?
  4. Does it quote settlement negotiations or attach settlement demands?
  5. Does it reveal work product, legal strategy, AI chat logs, draft pleadings, or attorney communications?
  6. Does it risk witness intimidation, harassment optics, or tainting future testimony?
  7. Would we be comfortable reading it aloud to a judge?

If the answer to #7 is no, we rewrite it.
